Otto SCREEN PRINTING

Otto Print specializes in quality, unique, eco-friendly, screen printing.

It can seem a little overwhelming with all the available print finishes available, so here's a simple breakdown of our most popular inks & the print finishes they will produce. As with most services we offer, if you have a particular finish or style in mind, make sure you let us know before ordering & we should be able to help!

• WATER BASED Screen Printing INKS

  We always print in water based screen printing inks – they are the supreme ink of choice with durability and sustainability. 

  Water- based screen printing inks are made with water rather than plastic or PVC. Water based inks can be split into 2 main ingredients: Water & Pigment.

  It serves as a great alternative to plastisol ink in many circumstances. One of the most prominent features of this type of ink is that the base does not include plastic, which makes it a more ECO-FRIENDLY options. The ink seeps into the garment and dyes the material rather than sitting on top of the fabric. This creates a more consistent feel along with a more vintage look after a few washes.

  We tend to use water-based ink as much as possible because it is a most sustainable option we have for screen printing. We add a mixing agent to the water-based ink to be able to print on darker garments. This ink, called Water-based Discharge, removes the dye within the image area of the garment and re-dyes it the color of the ink.

• DISCHARGE Screen Printing INKS

  Discharge screen printing is increasingly popular with fashion brands, the ink evaporates the dye from the garment & replaces it with pigment from the ink, leaving a very soft screen print with almost no feel. The print won’t crack over time, as the garment is dyed the ink colour. There are some limitations with this method of printing, as mentioned above it's limited depending on the fabric material & colour. One downside is that colour matching & vibrancy can be an issue, so we can only provide approximate print colours.  For designs with bright colours or where the colours have to be just right we recommend plastisol or premium standard. Our discharge printing inks are Soil Association Approved, & clean up with water, so are an eco friendly printing option.

In Otto Print, We use water based inks ( Permaset, Manga Colours, CCI …) and water based garment dye (also known as discharge) inks.  We partner with many apparel companies to offer you the best quality, variety and selection of organic or nonorganic clothing for your project.

Our screen printing prices are included one side printing + screen preparation cost + VAT. If you like to change the printing colour ( e.g: white print on black garment & black print on white garments ) on your order; there is a charge of £15 & minimum print order number is 25 each. Extras & Finishing Services

We offer an extensive range of finishing touches to ensure your garments have a professional and personal feel. From labelling, woven tags, and stitching, to polybagging and embroidery. Please see our Finishing Services for more information.

ARTWORK REQUIREMENTS

When sending us your artwork, please check the specs below, any questions; don’t hesitate to give us a shout at print@ottohouse.co.uk. We can help you with artwork, garment choices, branding and finishing touches.

• Vector artwork is preferable – ai or eps. Text should be converted to outline mode.

• If providing pdf, jpeg or tif, make sure your file is 300dpi and keep colours on separate layers and design your work to the correct print size. 

• Minimum print size for readable type is 12pt, minimum line width is 1pt. 

• We can screen print this product in the following locations:

  • Chest - up to 34cm x 43cm

  • Back - up to 34cm x 44cm

  • Inside Neck - up to 9cm x 10cm

  • Sleeves - up to 12cm x 15cm

• If your design doesn’t meet the above, pop us a message.

• Pantone uncoated colour numbers are recommended. Find your Pantone Colour

• Have full confidence we will never print your artwork without your consent, or anyone else’s - which is copyrighted or trademarked. - without their consent.

MINIMUM ORDER NUMBER

20 pieces minimum per design. We can screen print on various garments – men’s/women’s/t-shirts/hoodies. We have a broad catalogue of garments for you to peruse, but if providing your own, please drop us a line first, and provide extras for print tests. We can change the screen print colour for minimum order for 20 prints on each design and £10 fee for garment printing colour changes. ( e.g: black ink print on white t-shirts & white print on black t-shirts with same design).

MISPRINTS

We’re only human…truly brilliant ones, but occasionally even brilliant people make mistakes!  We will credit your account with any lost garments to your next order. 

If you are supplying your own goods for screen printing, we recommend adding 5% extra in each size. We cannot be responsible for replacing misprints. As for manufacture defects, we inspect with a close eye, but once printed we cannot be responsible for replacing these items.

*Complaint & RETURNS

If you find any dissatisfaction with your order, we highly value your prompt communication. Please inform Otto Print and Design immediately in writing via email within three days of receiving your goods. Include a detailed description of the issue and, if possible, attach photos of the fault for better clarity.

How to Return Faulty Items

Upon agreement with Otto Print, you should return the faulty items to the address below. If the fault is evident, we can arrange to collect the parcel from you.

Refunds and Reprints

If the fault is ours, we will offer you a refund or credit for the faulty items. For orders with more than 10 faulty items, we can only provide a reprint in 2 weeks. If you arranged the return yourself and the fault is confirmed, we will also reimburse the delivery cost.

This policy does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer. So that you know, customised goods cannot be returned or exchanged due to incorrect fitting or if the items have been worn or washed.
